NEW RELEASES |
You will be able to find here news about the latest Volvo scale models which have been announced or just been released. |
The number fifty-four in the Volvo Collection by Editions Atlas is the Volvo 264 TE Landaulet. The Swedish coach-builder Nillson (Yngve Nilsson Karosseri) built this Landaulet for the former DDR-Deutsche Demokratische Republik (German) or German Democratic Republic (English). This is without a doubt one of the most rarest Volvo cars ever produced. This scale model is a 1:43 copy of the car which you can visit today in the Story of Berlin Museum in Berlin, Germany. A second but slightly different model stands in the Samsung Transport Museum near Everland, (Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do) in South-Korea. Source & copyright : Editions Atlas SA, Switzerland

The number fifty-three in the Volvo Collection by Editions Atlas is the Volvo 66 (1975–1980). The Volvo 66 was pretty much a re-badged DAF 66. These cars featured a CVT gearbox which was also called Variomatic. The Volvo 66 has it's place in the Volvo Collection by Editions Atlas even if many people like to pretend that this is just not a Volvo. Source & copyright : Editions Atlas SA, Switzerland
The number fifty-two in the Volvo Collection by Editions Atlas is the first generation Volvo C70 convertible. Volvo offered his C70 convertible between 1999 and 2005. The C70 was a real convertible equipped with a soft top. The newly tooled scale model comes in that very cool saffron pearl metallic (paint code 435) which suits this car so well. And those BBS style 18'' wheels add just that extra charisma to this C70 convertible. Source & copyright : Editions Atlas SA, Switzerland VOLVO Collection :

The Australian company Apex Replicas has published a couple of days ago the first pics of the first painted and decorated pre-production models of the Volvo S60 V8 Supercar. These scale models do not feature any opening parts. Such features would have resulted in way too high prices since the production batch of these models is pretty small. Their latest delivery schedule previews the models to arrive next June. You can place your order now with any of their authorized Apex Replicas stockists or online on their own website. The upcoming models include: Source & copyright : apexreplicas.com.au
V8 Supercars official website : v8supercars.com.au Garry Roger Motosport official website : grmotorsport.com.au Polestar Racing official website : polestar.com/en-int/racing The British manufacturer The Essence Of The Car has released his second Volvo model. The first has been the no longer existing Volvo Venus Bilo (see here & here). The second model is once again a pretty rare Volvo model. I guess you won't see many outside of Scandinavia. David, the man behind The Essence Of The Car choose to reproduce the Volvo V70 pickup offered by the Swedish car manufacturer Dalbo Fordonsteknik. The 1:43 scale model is finished in David's usual style of reproducing unusual and/or rare cars of the past and present. Here is a quote by David: The latest model is of a Volvo V70 Pick Up Truck. It is a one off and there is not much known about this pick up truck apart from 2 photographs of it on a trailer being delivered somewhere. Source & copyright : theessenceofthecar.co.uk
This years International Toy Fair in Nürnberg opened his doors from January 28 to February 2, 2015. Nürnberg welcomes each year the world’s biggest toy fair. Other well known toy fairs are held in New York (US), Chicago (US), Hong-Kong (CN) & Shanghai (CN). The usual manufacturers which are already known to produce Volvo models have once again showed some news. I guess teh most awaited model will be the Volvo S60 STCC as well as the Volvo V60 Polestar. Motorart presented a couple of pre-preduction models of these two models. The Australian label Apex Replicas had announced the STCC version of the S60 already last year. see here Here are all the news I was told about in alphabetical order : BoS-Models This 1:18 scale Volvo PV445 Duett is for sure another great surprise and I bet many will be glad to add this model one day to their showcase. 1:18
Kalee electric ride one
This electric ride on is not a newly produced and/or announced model. I have presented this model back in 2012 click here. Minichamps Minichamps has a rather nice surprise by announcing a classic Volvo in 1:18 : the Volvo 240 GL. Minichamps will produce beside this newly tooled model a few longtime known 1:43 models in new colors. But what about release dates? How long are we already waiting for the fourth color of the Volvo P1800ES in 1:18? Way too many years in my eyes. 1:18
1:43
You can read Minichamps complete news-list by clicking here. Motorart Motorart has not completely stopped to offer Volvo cars. They have announced the Volvo V60 Polestar as well as the Volvo S60 STCC in various versions. The photos do show so far only pre-production models! 1:10
Neo Scale Models Neo Scale Models has presented only the Volvo 145 Polis which has already been manufactured and delivered to shops. But this doesn't mean anything. Their new company policy to announce models only when they are nearly finished and ready to be shipped to retailers and shops. 1:43
Norev Norev has presented three known models in new colors. It's quite a shame that their communication is very poor. 1:43
Oxford Diecast The British company Oxford Diecast has presented their first Volvo scale car. They have already a small number of modern Volvo trucks in their program. The first Volvo car they will offer is the classic 1st generation Volvo 245 estate. The model will be available in the very British scale of 1:76 which railroad modelers often call OO Gauge. The first color will be green. It might be in stock between April 2015 & June 2015. More color schemes will follow at a later date. 1:76 / OO Gauge
Premium-X Models / Ixo / PCT Collectibles The label Premium-X continues with presenting photos of already announced Volvo models. There are however a few new models in between those : Volvo S80 in dark green metallic, Volvo 440 in silver metallic, Volvo 740 'Polis Stockholm' (S) and a red Volvo 855R. There will be certainly more news since they will offer every Volvo which will be offered in the Volvo Collection by Editions Atlas in new colors and/or liveries. Ixo is in fact producing all the models for the Volvo Collection by Editions Atlas. 1:43
Triple9Collection The Dutch label Triple9Collection continues with presenting photos of already announced Volvo models. A couple new models will certainly be announced this year. 1:43
Volvo 440 ''Rijkspolitie''
Volvo 440 ''Rijkspolitie District Alkmaar - Noord Holland''
Welly Welly has announced that they will offer the all-new Volvo X90 in two typical toy model scales : 1:36 and 1:64. They showed so far only photos of the actual car. So we have to wait for further info's regarding these models. 1:36
1:64
WhiteBox The label WhiteBox showed three Volvo's. Two of them - the Volvo P1900 Sport and the 145 estate - have already been announced. But it is the first time that we can see a photo of an upcoming Volvo P1800Es in blue metallic. 1:43

Courtesy of Mr Atlas & www.auto-und-modell.de The Bulgarian company Griffin Models which is well known for her excellent Saab scale models has released the first photos of their very first Volvo scale model - the Volvo VESC. The Volvo VESC has never been offered before as scale model. The Volvo VESC – Volvo Experimental Safety Car was a safety vehicle which was built back in 1972. Many features of that car served as base for the 200 series. The 1:43 scale model will be made of resin. The model will be offered as kit. It is not yet clear if a rtr model will also be available. My guess is that a very small run of rtr models will be offered. Prices are not yet given since this depends largely on the final number of parts needed for making this model. But the final retail price should be close those found on other models by Griffin Models. The photos below show you the casting of the first resin bodies. Another 59 of each are almost ready as well. The smaller black models are used as negatives and will serve as a master for a vacuum-formed window canopy. The remaining detail parts - windows, decals, stickers and photo-etched details - will be made in the upcoming weeks. Both models shown on the photos will be released in February 2015. Courtesy of griffinmodels.com _Some may remember that I announced this release back in 2013 see here. Well slight delay don't happen just to big manufacturers somewhere in Asia but also to craftsmen working as one man team in their workshop. But be assured that you won't regret to have waited slightly longer as initially announced. Close ups of the actual rim and wheel : Close ups of some pre-production steps : Please have also a look at Griffin Models FB page which shows you a large number of detailed views of so far produced Saab models and detail parts. Those photos give you an excellent overview of the given quality.
